Saints Celebrate 100 years of football in Goodwood

25 July 2011

The Goodwood Saints Football club has continued its celebration of 100 years of football in the Goodwood Area with a dinner at Morphetville Racecourse. The dinner was well attended with over 270 players, past players, sponsors, officials and supporters in attendance.

Hosted by Wayne Phillips and Amanda Blair and attended by the City of Unley Major Mr Lachlan Clyne the night was considered a great night by all who attended. Goodwood Saints President Shaun Mansell was thrilled with the evening and paid tribute to the events organising committee and in particular Carol Braysher for her outstanding efforts.

Highlights of the evening included 91 year old past player Colin Partington's rendition of O'Leary's Balls and the release of the Goodwood Saints produced book celebrating 100 years of football in the Goodwood area. The night was also attended by Club Legends Colin Nelson, Hans Ellenbroek and Mark Goodman.
